Maka Ọdimma Anyị! A people-first political movement primed to hold leaders accountable and ensure the delivery of progress to the people is gaining ground as Enugwu-Agidi electorates defied the rains and turned out to identify with the movement on June 6, 2026.
Speaking at the event held on Archbishop Ọnuorah Lane and attended by electorates from Enugwu-Agidi Ward 1 and 2, Hon. Emeka Ozumba told the crowd he came to fulfill his promise to return after the primaries to thank them for their support and doggedness during and after the elections, and for believing in the cause of Maka Ọdimma Njikọka 1, which has now evolved into the Maka Ọdimma Anyị movement.
It would be recalled that Hon. Emeka Ozumba, Aspirant for Njikọka 1 Constituency, launched Maka Ọdimma Anyị to massive acclaim after Thanksgiving at St. Francis Catholic Church, Enugwu-Ukwu, on May 31, 2026.
Ozumba told Enugwu-Agidi electorates that “Maka Ọdimma Anyị” is a people’s-first movement for the collective good of everyone. He stressed that by joining, they are now in the vanguard of advocates for good governance who will ensure the political space gradually reverts to men and women of good character, dedication, and service.
According to Hon. Ozumba, “For quite some time the perception has been that political actors are not men and women of integrity. Some of us are out to debunk that assumption: I am a man of my word. When I make a commitment I keep it, because it costs much less to stand and project the truth. Whether some of us like it or not, the truth ultimately prevails. Make no mistake, it may seem a tough bargain, but rest assured that any movement that will stand the test of time often starts small and spreads like wildfire. So do not be deterred. Stand your ground, because as long as you are with ‘Maka Ọdimma Anyị’, the future is bright for all candidates who identify with us in all elections.”
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Ebuka Ọnuorah, Ijele Umunri, commended Hon. Emeka Ozumba for displaying a rare quality not associated with politicians — keeping his promise to Enugwu-Agidi voters in spite of the unfavourable outcome of the primaries.
Said Hon. Ọnuorah: “On behalf of all gathered here, I want to assure you that this wonderful gesture and love will not be forgotten. We’ve not seen this type before, and we pray that God will replenish your barn. Rest assured that we have identified with you and will stand united with ‘Maka Ọdimma Anyị’. Tomorrow will be greater.”
