Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), the Ogun State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate and distinguished lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, said that his attention has been drawn to some misconstruction of some of the pledges he made to Ogun State Teachers during an interactive session in relation to their welfare issues and other ongoing policies of government in Ogun State as being circulated on some social media platforms.
According to the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, while he committed himself to improving on the educational policies of government under Prince Dapo Abiodun as governor, there was no time he committed himself to reduction of the Internship period of OGUNTEACH from two years to one year as being circulated. He merely stated that the programme of graduate teachers installment recruitment will be looked into in the interest of the state and providing employment opportunities.
The Distinguished Senator also promised N500,000 each to all 23 teachers’ award winners of all categories under the group of distinguished educators in addition to what was already given by Prince Abiodun.
However, while acknowledging the need for proper mode of transportation in form of buses as requested by all the 8 unions of Ogun Teachers at the event, the Senator pledged this will be done when he is eventually elected by God’s grace and peoples support on a one by one basis and not in one swoop as being circulated.
In all, the governorship candidate of the APC pledged to faithfully implement the National Teachers’ Policy, NTP, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda with local consideration to ensure Ogun State continues to excel nationwide and internationally in the teaching profession.
