ONC PG Commends Tantita Security Services, Calls For Inclusive Representation In Operations

The President General of respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Amb. Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its sustained commitment and dedication in securing the nation’s natural resources and combating crude oil theft across the Niger Delta region.
Reacting to the recent interception of the vessel Augustina allegedly conveying illegally refined crude oil along the waterways between River Dodo and River Ramos, Amb. Emeni Ibe described the operation as a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against economic sabotage, environmental degradation, and criminal activities within the oil-rich region.
The ONC President General specifically applauded the efforts of the Tantita Security Services Amatu Unit under the coordination of Mr. Ejime Job, noting that the successful operation demonstrates professionalism, vigilance, and unwavering commitment to protecting critical national assets.
“On behalf of the Orashi National Congress, the apex socio-cultural organization representing the interests of the Orashi people, I commend Tantita Security Services and the Amatu Unit for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding our nation’s natural resources. Their recent interception of a vessel suspected to be involved in illegal crude oil activities is a commendable step towards protecting the economy and preserving our environment,” Amb. Ibe stated.
While applauding the security outfit for its achievements, the ONC President General stressed the need for greater inclusiveness and stakeholder engagement in security operations within the Orashi region.
According to him, communities and indigenous socio-cultural organizations possess valuable local knowledge that can further enhance intelligence gathering, improve community relations, and strengthen the fight against oil theft and related crimes.
He emphasized that as the apex socio-cultural body in the Orashi region, the Orashi National Congress should be carried along in matters relating to security operations, community engagement, and developmental initiatives affecting the area.
“The Orashi region remains a critical part of the Niger Delta and any operation aimed at protecting national assets within our territory deserves our support. However, there is also a need for more inclusive representation and active engagement of local stakeholders. The Orashi National Congress, being the apex socio-cultural organization of our people, should be carried along and recognized as a strategic partner in fostering peace, security, and sustainable development in the region,” he added.
Amb. Ibe further reaffirmed the commitment of the Orashi National Congress to collaborate with security agencies, government institutions, and responsible private organizations in promoting peace, protecting the environment, and advancing the collective interests of the people of Orashi.
He urged all residents of the region to support legitimate efforts aimed at curbing crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism while providing useful information that could assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending those involved in illegal activities.
The ONC leader concluded by encouraging Tantita Security Services and other security stakeholders to sustain the momentum in the fight against economic sabotage while ensuring that host communities and their recognized representative bodies are adequately involved in decisions and operations that impact their environment and livelihoods.
