ONC Hails Ahoada East Council Boss, Hon. Ochoma Over Triple Development Milestone

Notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), has commended the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, for recording what it described as a historic triple milestone in the council area.

 

The commendation was made by the President General of the Orashi National Congress, Ambassador Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, following the flag-off of the construction of a modern Chairman’s Lodge, the Central NYSC Corps Members’ Lodge, and the presentation of official vehicles to the Vice Chairman and the 13 Honourable Councillors of Ahoada East LGA.

 

Ambassador Ibe described the development as a bold and commendable step towards strengthening grassroots governance, improving infrastructure, and promoting the welfare of young Nigerians serving in the area.

 

The flag-off of the modern Chairman’s Lodge was performed by Hon. (Barr.) Ben Eke, DSSRS, Echi Ekpeye Logbo I of the Ekpeye Ethnic Nation and Governorship Candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) under the Rainbow Coalition.

The proposed lodge is expected to provide a befitting residence for serving and future Chairmen of Ahoada East Local Government Area, while also enhancing the dignity of the office.

 

Also at the event, official vehicles were commissioned and presented to the Vice Chairman and the 13 Councillors representing the 13 wards of Ahoada East LGA. The commissioning was performed by Sir Hon. Napoleon Ukalikpe, JP, Member representing Ahoada East Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

 

The vehicles are expected to improve the mobility of the council leadership and strengthen service delivery across the various wards in the local government area.

Similarly, the Central NYSC Corps Members’ Lodge was flagged off by the Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Dr. Moses Olege. The project is designed to provide safe, modern, and conducive accommodation for Corps Members posted to Ahoada East LGA.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Ochoma stated that the projects reflect his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, youth welfare, security, and effective governance.

“We are not just building structures. We are building dignity, security and a future that works for all Ahoada East people,” the council chairman stated.

The event attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, party stakeholders, NYSC officials, residents, and other dignitaries, who commended the Ochoma-led administration for the initiatives.

 

While applauding the council chairman, Ambassador Emeni Ibe noted that the projects represent a step in the right direction. He however, urged the Ahoada East Local Government administration to sustain the tempo of development and ensure that the benefits of the huge monthly allocations received by local governments are visibly felt by people at the grassroots.

 

According to him, more people-oriented projects, youth empowerment programmes, improved healthcare facilities, road infrastructure, educational support, and economic opportunities are needed to justify the confidence reposed in local government leadership.
