The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), joined Muslim clerics led by Kamarudeen Illo for the council’s monthly prayer session.

The clerics prayed for continued progress and development in Ikeja and also for peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections.

They urged Muslim faithful and residents to remain peaceful, promote love and unity, and conduct themselves in ways that strengthen orderliness and peaceful coexistence in their communities.

Comrade Dauda (AKOD) thanked the clerics for their continuous prayers, saying the impact has been visible in the administration’s achievements.

He highlighted the council’s Back-to-School programme, which provided school bags, exercise books and mathematical sets to indigent children, as well as free GCE forms for over 200 students, who are currently writing their examinations.

He also disclosed that over 200 school leavers and unemployed youths participated in the two-month holiday job programme and have received their salaries for August and September.

The Council Chairman appealed for continued prayers and support, reaffirming his open-door policy and commitment to working with religious and community stakeholders to make Ikeja better for all.
