— MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA

It is now obvious that we have three distinct contenders in the race to January 16, 2027. First is the incumbent (Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu), then we have the opponent (Alhaji Atiku Abubakar), and the comic relief (Mr. Peter Obi).
Amidst all the electioneering tension, Mr. Peter Obi has become, for many, the comedic interjection that distracts political actors from the real issues shaping voter decisions for the 2027 polls. This was not supposed to be, given the momentum his candidacy garnered amongst the motley crowd he has sold utopia to since 2019.
It is easy to build a lie; what is difficult is sustaining it. For over 14 years, Valentine Obienyem has successfully sold a lie about the person of his principal through media framing couched on de-marketing all who came before and after Peter Obi as Governors of Anambra State. Now that facts, and I mean hardcore facts, are confronting their déjà vu, they have rapidly become their own contradiction. Sadly, Valentine appears lethargic, occasioned by a paucity of new ideas. To fan his depleted ego, he now publishes his subjective views as public opinion. That a Valentine would eventually place a Chris Ngige as number one in terms of road infrastructure in the same Anambra where he elevated Peter so high above normal, is indicative that he is now in search of true freedom.
Like the scripture says in John 8:32, “and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” I have many years ago prayed for the salvation of Valentine’s soul. If God has chosen this year to begin His redemptive work in the life of Obienyem, who has elevated shamelessness to an all-time high, I can only yield to God in thanksgiving.
I remember the remark of a former Local Government Chairman of Nnewi South at a campaign rally many years ago. They call him “Agbaegonkiti”. He said to his people of Ukpor, “Ukpor ga ama ihe, mana obu na Ikpeazu.” Dr. Chris Ngige can now take his deserved flowers from Peter Obi’s vuvuzela. Obiano’s own will come soon. I can bet you, Soludo’s own will certainly come.
May the Lord who began this work in Obienyem’s life perfect it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
