In a remarkable display of goodwill and recognition, Total Energies yesterday brought critical healthcare services to Ilado Community, a community that shares boundaries both in Amuwo Odofin and Apapa Local Government Areas, celebrating the firm commitment of Dr. Creek Healthcare Foundation to the health and well-being of riverine communities in Lagos.
The one-day outreach programme, held in the heart of Ilado, provided free medical services to hundreds of residents, addressing common health challenges such as hypertension, malaria, hepatitis, and urinary tract infections. TotalEnergies generously supplied a wide range of medical consumables, ensuring the outreach was impactful, timely, and effective in reaching the underserved.
The initiative was not a typical partnership but rather a special tribute to Dr. Creek Healthcare Foundation, in recognition of its longstanding and selfless service to difficult-to-reach riverine communities across Amuwo Odofin and Apapa LGAs.
Mr. Yakubu Belgore, Executive Director representing TotalEnergies, lauded the foundation’s humanitarian efforts, saying, “TotalEnergies is proud to stand with those who serve humanity. A healthy community is indeed a wealthy community, and we remain committed to supporting initiatives that bring lasting impact”.
In a show of royal appreciation, Chief Agbabiaka Samsondeen, the Elegushi Olofin of Ilado land, representing His Royal Majesty, Oba Mobadenle Oyekan, the Onilado of Ilado Community, expressed heartfelt gratitude to TotalEnergies for choosing Ilado and for recognizing Dr. Creek’s service.
“This is a great day for Ilado. We thank TotalEnergies and commend Dr. Creek for their tireless service to our people,” he said.
Though the outreach was a one-day event, residents are encouraged to access continued medical care at any of the three Dr. Creek Healthcare Foundation partner hospitals (IMC) located within the riverine axis of Amuwo Odofin and Apapa.
The event ended on a high note, filled with gratitude, renewed hope, and a reaffirmed commitment to community health.
