The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, has mobilized contractors to site for the construction of roads within the Obasanjo Hilltop GRA, Abeokuta.
The road intervention fulfills a promise made by the Senator to residents of the estate, aimed at improving access, easing movement, and enhancing the quality of life in the area.
The project covers:
Alake, Tejuoso, Obasanjo, Oba Olowu Dosunmu, Yemi Oke/MJS/Mojisola, Prince Bola Ajibola, Alhaja Badru, and Judges’ Quarters Roads within Obasanjo Hilltop GRA.
Confirming the development, Prof. Yemi Oke, SAN, Chairman of OBJ Hilltop GRA Residents Association II, said he witnessed the movement of equipment and materials to the site.
“We are glad to report that, on the directive of the Ogun APC Governorship Candidate, Distinguished Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, materials and workers have been mobilized for the above mentioned roads,” Prof. Oke said.
According to the Residents Association, construction will begin directly in front of Alake Gbadedo Road/House on Oba Tejuoso Road, by Judges Quarters.
The roads stretch to the residences of Her Excellency Alhaja Badru and the late Prince Bola Ajibola, Asiwaju Odunbaku Roads, Late Oba Olowu Oba Dosunmu, and Prof. Afolabi Shoyode, former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University and Life President of Abeokuta Club.
The project will also pass in front of Baba Obasanjo’s property, and continue to Prof. Oyesiku, former Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Prof. Kayode Oyedele, KOB, and Mojisola Road — home to Prof. Asiwaju, Prof. Yemi Oke, SAN, Engr. Aminu, and Chief Mrs. Abiola, the Iya Oge of Egbaland and wife of the late M.K.O. Abiola.
It further covers MJS Avenue, where MJS Partners, Prof. Iyiola Oni, Engr. Abiola and others reside, and terminates at the South Estate gate by MJS Avenue.
The construction is expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete.
Prof. Oke urged residents to cooperate with workers and project supervisors, and to exercise patience during the period.
“We implore residents to be patient and endure while the project lasts. Residents are to explore/ply alternative roads and streets where their streets become temporarily obstructed due to road construction,” he said.
“We urge residents of these neighborhoods to fully cooperate with and render all necessary logistical and strategic assistance to the workers and project supervisors when requested.”
The Chairman concluded by praying for Senator Yayi’s success and pledging the support of the estate.
“May the good Lord continue to bless and keep Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi and grant him overwhelming victory in the coming election. As an estate and leaders of thoughts in Egbaland and beyond, we shall continue to appreciate Senator and reciprocate with our Voter’s Cards!” Prof. Oke concluded.
