The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and his wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, joined family members, colleagues and thousands of fans to observe the 40-Day Fidau Prayer for late veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Hassan Taiwo Ogogo.
The solemn Islamic rite was held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The late Ogogo, a thespian icon and one of the most respected figures in the Yoruba movie industry, passed on weeks ago, throwing the entertainment industry into mourning. His 40-day prayer drew an emotional crowd of entertainers, community leaders, religious leaders and political actors.

The prayer session had both Muslim and Christian clerics in attendance, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and for strength for the family he left behind.
Speaking at the event, Senator Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, described the late actor as a cultural ambassador who used his talent to project Yewaland and Ogun State positively. He restated his pledge to immortalize the late icon and to continue to stand by his family.

“We have lost a true legend. Ogogo was more than an actor, he was a teacher, a cultural custodian and a pride of Yewaland. We will not forget him and we will ensure his legacy lives on,” Adeola said.
The event was attended by top dignitaries including the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Kunle Salako, popular Islamic clerics Sheik Sugar and Ami Olohun, prominent businessman Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, as well as serving and former government officials at both state and federal levels.

Family members of the deceased expressed appreciation to Senator Adeola and other well-wishers for their support and solidarity since the passing of the veteran actor.
