Senator Adeola Yayi Commits To New Market At Olomore & More Roads Construction

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has directed that work should commence immediately on the construction of a new ultra-modern market at the popular Olomore Market in Abeokuta.

Senator Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, gave the directive at an endorsement ceremony organized for him by the United Traders Forum, UTF, of Ogun State, held at the Ake Palace Pavilion, Abeokuta.

He said construction workers will visit the site this week to commence work, adding that he will also construct roads as requested by some trade groups in the forum to enhance their business environment.

Among the trade groups under the UTF that contributed N1 million each to support his ambition are the Plank Sellers Association of Ogun State, Olomore Ram/Pepper/Fish Sellers, Egba Ram and Goat Sellers Association, which also gifted the candidate a ram, the Mobile Phones Dealers and Technicians Association, Abeokuta Computer Village, Kemta Indigenous Timber Contractors and the Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association, NATA, among others.

Senator Adeola also announced a N50,000 grant for 5,000 members of the forum, in addition to another financial donation for the body, saying he will not take their support, endorsement and financial contributions for granted.

Earlier, the President of the United Traders Forum, Alhaji Fasiu Ajadi, said members of the forum decided to back Senator Adeola for the 2027 governorship race because of the projects he has delivered across the state as a Senator. He added that all members of the forum have their Permanent Voter Cards and are ready to persuade their family members to vote for Yayi.

He said traders at Olomore desire to have a modern market of their own, similar to the one the Senator constructed at Panseke and in several other places across Ogun State.

Dignitaries who witnessed the occasion included the deputy governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Sodunke and Rt. Hon. Suraju Adekunbi; former state chairman of the PDP, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele; former state chairman of the APC, Hon.
