Senator Adeola Yayi Commends Party Faithful & Promises To Run Inclusive Governance

The consensus governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has commended the party faithful for the peaceful and orderly manner they conducted themselves during the party primaries for the governorship.

Adeola, who gave this commendation while speaking with journalists shortly after he participated in the primaries in his Pahayi, Ilaro Ward 2, on Thursday, said the peaceful conduct of the exercise demonstrated the unity and cohesion within the party.
He expressed delight that the governorship primaries were also peaceful across the state.
The senator stated further that the turn out of party members during the direct primary exercise is a strong indication that the party remains formidable and poised to achieve landslide victories at the 2027 general poll.
While assuring the APC members that he would not disappoint them and ensure delivery of good governance if emerges as the next governor of the state, Adeola declared that his administration would continue on the legacy of Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun for maintaining cohesive internal democracy the ruling is reputed for, emphasizing his readiness to run an inclusive and open administration.
The APC consensus governorship candidate, however, refuted the claims that some aspirants in the party are aggrieved over his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the APC.
According to the senator, his candidature was not foisted on the party, rather it was a rancour-free consensus agreement among the party stakeholders and leaders across the three senatorial districts.
“I am not aware of aggrieved aspirants against my emergence as the governorship consensus candidate of our dear party. The decision to present me as the consensus candidate was not foisted on the party. Rather, it was as a result of far-reaching consultation and agreement among the stakeholders and leaders of the party across the three senatorial districts of the state.”
“So, to my knowledge, nobody was cheated, nobody was disenfranchised. I was duly supported at the APC strategic meeting at the party secretariat.  After that, I have gone to meet other aspirants and we are going to work together for the betterment of the people of Ogun State.”
“I want to assure you that I will run inclusive governance and carry everyone along. It will be a government that will not leave any group or interest out”, Adeola stated.
The Senator, who polled 3,023 votes at the Pahayi Ilaro Ward 2, later monitored the exercise in Ilaro Ward 2 and Sabo Ward 3.
