Peter Obi Does Not Have A Track Record Of Political Fidelity

MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA

Why is Obi “replying Soludo” when the speech was not directed at him but at aspirants for governorship in Anambra making similar phantom promises — simply because they realized that the zoning system should “disqualify” them?

It is difficult to read the so called Obi’s “reply” without wondering how Obi sees his followers. May be as a bunch of uncritical thinkers who are under oath or spell to swallow all he says hook, line and sinker. The question is, why did he contest for second term as Governor? What did he achieve in Anambra in his first four years, to now promise to fix Nigeria in 4 years?

So, his previous “vows” were not sacrosanct? We know several public “vows” that were broken without blinking, including the vow to stay in APGA for life or quit politics any-day he leaves APGA? He vowed “consistency” and criticized those running from one party to the other. But in just a few years, how many times has he changed parties? Credibility is part of requirement for transformational leadership. Nigerians are not fools!

Obi is actually in a thoughtless fight against his own records of inconsistency.
