The Orashi National Congress, ONC, has officially endorsed the upcoming film viewing and launch of DOUBLE DEKOI, a locally produced movie by Star City Theatre, Abua. The grand event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, by 3:00 PM, at the Conference Hall, Abua/Odual Council Secretariat, Ayama Abua Central, Abolga, Rivers State.
In a public statement, the ONC called on all sons and daughters of Abua—and indeed the broader Orashi region—to come out in full support of this cultural milestone. “This is not just a movie, it is an economic and social movement,” the Congress noted. “We appeal to all Abua sons, daughters, and well-wishers to kindly support this effort with their presence.”
The ONC highlighted the broader vision behind the film project, explaining that DOUBLE DEKOI goes beyond entertainment—it is a strategic tool to build community equity. “With the success of this movie, we will create equity and use the equity to generate economic circles. Through multiplying these circles, we believe we can drastically reduce hunger and poverty by as much as 98%,” the statement added.
The film features 21 talented actors from Abua, and according to ONC, its success will set them on a path toward a promising future in both the creative industry and beyond. “This is an opportunity to uplift our own. Our gratitude will know no bounds for any support offered toward the success of this movie viewing and launching,” the Congress affirmed.
The ONC also acknowledged Dixon Igoni, the creative force behind the production, praising his vision and dedication to empowering local talent.
Tickets for the event are available for sale at D-Cube, and further information can be obtained by contacting 07033801844 or 08118904067.
As the countdown begins to the launch, Orashi National Congress urges the people of Abua and Rivers State at large to take pride in this homegrown success story and invest their time and presence in what promises to be a historic event.
