
The President General of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Ambassador Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has expressed deep grief over the sudden passing of His Royal Highness, Eze N. B. Okwa, Eze Emene Ekamini-Ubie I of Ubie Kingdom.
In a condolence message, Amb. Ibe described the monarch’s death as a monumental loss to Ubie Kingdom, the entire Ekpeye Nation, and the Orashi region.
“The news of the sudden passing of His Royal Highness came as a painful shock and has left a deep sense of sorrow in our hearts,” Amb. Ibe said.
“His death is not only a great loss to his family and the people of Ubie Kingdom, but a painful loss to the entire Ekpeye Nation and Orashi region.”
The ONC President General paid tribute to the late monarch’s leadership and commitment to tradition.
“His Royal Highness was a rare voice of truth, justice and wisdom. For many years, he stood firmly for what was right and provided guidance with remarkable intellect, discipline and deep knowledge of our traditions,” he stated.
“His wisdom and understanding of the affairs of our people earned him a place of great respect within the traditional institution.”
Amb. Ibe noted that Eze Okwa was a steady voice in council meetings and a source of fatherly counsel on matters affecting the people.
“We will deeply miss his fatherly counsel, his calm wisdom and his meaningful contributions whenever important matters concerning our people were brought before the council. His voice, presence and guidance were invaluable, and his sudden departure has created a painful vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” he said.
The ONC PG said the monarch’s legacy of service will continue to inspire the people.
“This is indeed a sad moment for Ubie Kingdom and the entire Ekpeye Nation. While words may not be enough to express the depth of this loss, we take solace in the enduring legacy of a man who gave his wisdom, service and leadership to his people,” Amb. Ibe added.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Ubie Traditional Council, and the people of Ubie Kingdom and the Orashi region.
“My heartfelt condolences go to his immediate family, the traditional institution, the people of Ubie Kingdom and the entire Orashi region. May God Almighty comfort the bereaved family and grant us all the strength to bear this painful and irreparable loss.”
