ONC Pays Courtesy Visit to Rivers FRSC Sector Commander, Pledges Support For Road Safety Campaigns

Notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, on Monday, July 13, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, CC Francis A. Ajatta. 
The delegation was led by the President General, Ambassador Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP.
Speaking during the visit, Amb. Ibe said the Congress was in the office on behalf of the people of Orashi Region, which comprises Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
“On behalf of the good people of Orashi Region in Rivers State, we, the executive council and the entire membership of the congress, have come to familiarize ourselves with you as the Sector Commander and to congratulate you,” he said.
He commended the FRSC and other agencies for their efforts in securing lives and property and ensuring safety on the roads within the region.
“Indeed our people are filled with joy that knows no bounds and reposed confidence in the efficiency of the FRSC and other security agencies for doing the needful in terms of safety of lives and property within our region,” Amb. Ibe stated.
“We lack words to express the profound gratitude of our people. Just within the short period of your posting to the area, there is serious work within the office. All we can say is thank you.”
The President General described ONC as an independent socio-cultural umbrella organization of Orashi people, committed to advocating sustainable security, peace, national unity and justice.
He said part of the Congress’ mandate is to enlighten and mobilize Orashi people to embrace dialogue in resolving conflicts and to work closely with security agencies.
“Having the ambition of contributing our quota towards bettering the society, we focus on creating a conducive environment and reducing crime like cultism, pipeline vandalization, youth restiveness and terrorism,” he said.
Amb. Ibe listed some of ONC’s activities to include: public enlightenment campaigns for the return of illegally possessed arms, national unity and security workshops, the Orashi Peace Walk — _“Waka for Peace”_, talk shops for military-civilian cordial interface, anti-pipeline vandalization campaign, anti-bunkering initiative, anti-kidnapping campaign, _Operation Walk with Security Agencies_, and _Operation Give Honour to Traditional Rulers.
He prayed for God’s continuous strength and grace upon the Sector Commander in the discharge of his duties.
The Rivers Sector Commander, CC Francis A. Ajatta, commended the ONC for the visit and pledged the Commission’s support for the Congress’ public enlightenment efforts.
He assured the group that he would mobilize FRSC officers in the Ahoada and Omoku area and provide logistics support for ONC’s safety campaign targeted at motorcycle riders, tricycle riders and commercial motorists on road safety precautions.
The visit ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment to partnership in promoting safety, peace and responsible road use across Orashi land.
