Ogene Ogbunike Felicitates With Prof. Ilochi Okafor (SAN) On Prestigious DMGS Old Boys Award

Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udokamma, popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike and the Eze Odinana of Ogbunike Land, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Sir Ilochi Augustine Okafor, SAN, on the conferment of the Chike Okonyia Award—the highest honour bestowed by the Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Old Boys Association.

 

Prof. Okafor, an esteemed legal luminary, former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and Chairman of the DMGS School Management Board, was decorated with the award during the DOBA Worldwide Convention Dinner Night and Banquet, held yesterday.

 

The honour was presented by the President General of DMGS Old Boys Association Worldwide, Dr. Sunny Chuba Nwachukwu, in recognition of Prof. Okafor’s towering achievements, distinguished service, and lifelong commitment to excellence.

 

In his congratulatory message, Ogene Ogbunike stated: “It is with great pride and admiration that I join the entire Ogbunike community and the global alumni of DMGS to celebrate the accomplishments of Prof. Sir Ilochi Okafor, SAN, Akajiana. This recognition is a testament to a life of discipline, intellectual distinction, and unwavering service to our people and institutions. The Eze Odinana emphasized that Prof. Okafor’s achievements continue to inspire generations of professionals across Nigeria and beyond, especially in the areas of law, education, and community leadership.
