Independence Day Message: Amb. Emeni Ibe Felicitates With Nigerians At 66, Calls For Economic Reforms

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has felicitated with Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

In a goodwill message on behalf of the National Executive Council and the entire people of Orashi Region, Amb. Ibe congratulated the nation for keeping its unity despite decades of challenges.

“Nigeria has come a long way. We have kept our unity. But we must now fix the economy, fix power, and make life easier for the ordinary Nigerian,” he said.

The ONC President General noted that while the country’s resilience and diversity remain its greatest strengths, the true test of independence lies in delivering tangible improvements in the living conditions of citizens.

He called on leaders at all levels to prioritize policies that address hunger, unemployment and energy poverty, stressing that development must be felt in every Local Government Area, not just in major cities.

Sharing his prayer and vision for the country ahead of its 70th anniversary in 2030, Ibe said: “My prayer before Nigeria @ 70 in 2030: Food security and 18 hours stable electricity for every LGA. It is possible!”

He expressed optimism that with purposeful leadership, accountability and collective effort, Nigeria can achieve food sufficiency and stable power supply within the next four years.

“Long Live Orashi Region! Long Live Nigeria!” he concluded.
