BIN BAQQI
With a heart full of sorrow, yet hopeful for a united future, I write to address us all not just as a stakeholder of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), but as a concerned son of Kogi State in this delicate moment of mourning.
Just days ago, our dear Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, lost his beloved father, Alhaji Usman Ododo, a revered elder and silent pillar behind the values that shaped the man we now trust to lead us. This loss is not just personal to the Governor; it is a shared grief for all of us who believe in the values of family, heritage, and faith.
In this time of sorrow, we have witnessed the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, alongside party stalwarts Senators, Ministers, Governors, and dignitaries travel across distances to pay their respects and stand with our Governor. Their actions are not mere protocol; they are a testament to the strength of our party and the unity of our people.
This moment calls us, not just to grieve, but to reflect and to unite.
A Call to Unity Across Our State
Kogi State is a land of many tongues and traditions: Igala, Ebira, Okun, Bassa, Nupe, and more. Yet, we are one people. Our differences are not a curse but a blessing pieces of a puzzle that, when connected, form the full picture of our greatness.
In mourning, we must rediscover our shared identity. Let this period of grief serve as a bridge between our communities and political divides. Let it be a reminder that when one of us hurts, we all hurt and when one of us leads, we must all support.
Governor Ododo has shown grace, humility, and leadership in these difficult days. Now is the time for us as party members, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth organizations, and citizens to stand with him and with each other.
We must resist the urge to allow politics to overshadow compassion. We must prioritize the peace and development of our state above personal or sectional interests.
In Honour of a Life Well Lived
The late Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo lived a quiet but impactful life instilling values of discipline, service, and faith in his children. It is these values that now guide our Governor. Honouring his memory means supporting the vision his son carries for a peaceful, united, and progressive Kogi State.
As an APC stakeholder, I join millions of others in saying: we mourn with you, Your Excellency. But we also stand with you and behind you as you continue to serve the people of our dear state.
A Future Built on Solidarity
Let this loss be the seed of something greater. Let us rise from grief with renewed unity, renewed purpose, and renewed commitment to the progress of Kogi State.
Let every zone, every ward, and every home feel the warmth of brotherhood again. That is how we will truly honour the departed.
May Allah (SWT) grant Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo eternal rest in Aljanat Firdaus.
May He comfort the Governor and the entire Ododo family.
May He continue to guide the leadership of our great party and our beloved state.
God bless Kogi State.
God bless the APC.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
With deepest sympathy and unwavering hope.
Bin BAQQI, a Concerned APC Stakeholder
