Ikeja LG Boss, Comrade Dauda Convenes Monthly Security Meeting With Stakeholders

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday chaired the monthly security meeting for the Local Government.

 

The meeting was held to review the security situation across Ikeja and discuss collaboration among stakeholders.

The statement by the Council listed attendees as heads of security agencies in Ikeja Local Government; Mrs. Dawodu, Head of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ikeja; the Head of the State Paramilitary Agency in Ikeja; the Regent of Ikeja Kingdom, High Chief Apena; the Chairperson of the Community Development Committee (CDC); Council Manager Mrs. Odubeko; representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the League of Imams and Alfas; Director of Legal Services Barr. Bailey; and Secretary to the Local Government Prince Adeyinka Illo.

According to the council statement, participants reviewed security developments within the local government, identified emerging challenges, and discussed measures to maintain peace across Ikeja. The statement said stakeholders at the meeting highlighted intelligence sharing, community participation, and inter-agency cooperation as important for addressing security concerns.

 

The Council Chairman thanked security agencies and community leaders for “their dedication and sacrifice in maintaining law and order within the local government,” the statement said. He added that his administration is committed to supporting security agencies with cooperation and logistics to enhance their effectiveness.

 

The Executive Chairman also urged residents to “remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information that can help prevent crime and safeguard lives and property,” according to the statement. He noted that “security remains a collective responsibility” and called for synergy between government institutions, traditional authorities, religious leaders, and community stakeholders.

 

The meeting ended with prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in Ikeja Local Government and Lagos State, the statement said.
