The President General of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb. Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has felicitated with Muslim families in the Orashi Region, across Nigeria and worldwide on the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 25, 2026, a public holiday for the celebration.
In his goodwill message, Amb. Ibe urged Muslims and adherents of other faiths to use the period to strengthen peace, compassion, neighbourliness and mutual religious respect.
He stressed that peaceful coexistence remains essential for community development and national progress.
“Eid-ul-Mawlid is a time to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, which emphasize kindness, tolerance and service to humanity,” the ONC President General said.
Quoting a teaching of the Prophet, Amb. Ibe said: “Allah is kind and He loves kindness.”
The saying, recorded in Sahih Muslim, he noted, underscores the values of gentleness, compassion and unity that should guide interactions among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
Amb. Ibe wished Muslim families in Orashi and beyond a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
He prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity in the Orashi Region, Nigeria and the world at large.
“May this celebration bring joy to every home, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, and inspire us all to live in harmony,” he added.
