The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has charged revenue drive task staff, management and executive members to intensify efforts towards improved revenue generation and effective service delivery.

Comrade Dauda gave the charge during the Council’s Monthly Revenue meeting with members of the executive and management at the council secretariat, where he reviewed the ongoing revenue drive and commended the team for its commitment to the exercise, particularly on Adepele Street, Computer Village.

The Chairman urged the revenue team to sustain the momentum as the exercise progresses to Otigba Street and other areas within Computer Village, stressing the need for greater collaboration, diligence and professionalism.

While acknowledging the challenges confronting the revenue drive, Comrade Dauda noted that the revenue-generating opportunities within Computer Village and its environs far outweigh the difficulties that may be encountered.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the exercise, noting that increased revenue generation would strengthen the council’s capacity to provide quality infrastructure and other essential services to residents.

Comrade Dauda therefore, called on staff, management and executive members to work collectively towards achieving the council’s revenue targets, assuring them that the benefits of improved internally generated revenue would contribute to the overall development of the council and the welfare of its workforce and residents.

The Council Treasurer, Mr. Olamide Ojikutu, and the Area Officer, Mr. Ayo Ojikutu, expressed their commitment to supporting the Chairman in galvanising staff for a more robust and sustainable revenue drive.

They also responded to questions and concerns raised during the meeting, emphasising the importance of collective responsibility, cooperation and commitment. They assured the Chairman of their readiness to lead by example in advancing the council’s revenue-generation objectives.
