The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday received the Area Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ojodu Command, Deacon Jibo Magayaku Sanusi, at the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat.
The visit, which was marked by cordial discussions, focused on strengthening collaboration between the Local Government and the NDLEA in the ongoing fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking within Ikeja and its environs.

Speaking during the meeting, Comrade Dauda commended the NDLEA for its unwavering commitment to safeguarding communities from the menace of drug abuse. He emphasized that the security and well-being of residents remain a top priority of his administration, noting that drug-related issues pose a significant threat to youth development and societal stability.
The Council Chairman reiterated his administration’s readiness to support the NDLEA through community-based initiatives, awareness campaigns, and intelligence-sharing frameworks aimed at curbing the spread of illicit substances.

In his remarks, Deacon Jibo Magayaku Sanusi appreciated the Chairman for the warm reception and acknowledged the importance of synergy between government institutions at all levels. He assured the Council of the NDLEA’s continued dedication to enforcing drug laws and engaging communities in preventive education.
