Buruj FC Graduate, Samson Ubong Lights Up Spanish Youth Division With 26 Goals & 14 Assists In 30 Matches

Nigerian football talent and Buruj FC product, Samson Ubong, has continued his meteoric rise in Spanish football, registering an impressive 26 goals and 14 assists across various youth divisions from January to May 2025.

 

Ubong, who currently plies his trade in Spain, split his season between two clubs —Berja CF and Motril CF — showcasing his attacking prowess and consistency across multiple levels of competition.

 

Ubong joined Berja CF in January and quickly made an impact.  Between January 26 and February 14, he played five matches with the U19 team, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist. He also earned a senior team appearance, where he provided a crucial assist.

 

Notable performances include a goal and assist in the match against Parador, and a goal in the tie against Huercal. He also featured in fixtures against Cantoria, Molinos, and CD Huercal, where he again provided an assist.

In mid-February, Ubong transferred to Motril CF, where he continued his standout form. Between February 18 and May 4, he featured in multiple age groups:

Academy Team: 5 games, 9 goals, 5 assists

U19 Team: 8 games, 6 goals, 4 assists

Competition Team: 4 games, 9 goals, 3 assists

Ubong’s versatility and knack for finding the net saw him adapt seamlessly to each squad he was placed in, consistently delivering game-changing performances.

Across his time with both clubs, Ubong’s combined contributions stand at a remarkable 26 goals and 14 assists in just 30 games, firmly establishing him as one of the most exciting young prospects in Spanish youth football this season.

With numbers like these, it’s only a matter of time before higher-tier clubs come knocking — and for Buruj FC, it’s yet another testament to their growing reputation for developing top-tier talent.

 

Ubong’s journey to Spain was facilitated by Buruj Sports Academy, a Nigerian institution renowned for developing young football talents.

In January 2025, the academy announced the transfer of some of their players to European clubs, with Ubong joining Berja CF as part of this initiative .

His immediate impact in Spain has not only validated the academy’s developmental programs but also positioned Ubong as a promising talent to watch.
