The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP), has hailed the eventual release of energetic ONELGA youth, Mr. Richard Ogidi, whose unfortunate abduction took place weeks ago.
Speaking on the cheering news of Richard’s release, Amb Ibe said, “With hearts full of gratitude to the Almighty God, we received the good news of the eventual release of our dear son and brother, Richard Ogidi, who was taken away by unknown gunmen in the odd hours of 23rd April, 2026”.
“We are grateful to God that he was released alive after many days of shock, speculations and deep worry when his whereabouts remained unknown.”
“While I join the good people of ONELGA in thanking God, I must express my appreciation to our traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders in the Orashi region, who joined in condemning the abduction of the young man and those who made different efforts in collaboration with the security agents.”
“I once again, use this medium to call on our teeming youths to embrace hard work and be constructively engaged. I equally call on all security agencies to rise swiftly and decisively to nip criminal activities in the bud in our region. There is an urgent need for the State Government to beef up effects towards the security of lives and property across the state.”
“While I welcome our brother, Richard Ogidi, safely home, I also use this opportunity to caution strongly against youths being used against their fellow youths. We must reject every attempt to turn brothers against brothers. Our youths should not be instruments in the destabilization of their own communities.”.
“I hereby, call on leaders of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area in particular and Orashi region in general to rise together with the youths, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and security agencies to put a permanent stop to these disturbing incidents.
