On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, led a team from the media organisation on a courtesy visit to High Chief Dr. Christopher Chukwunwogo Ndubisi, KSJI, Ikenga Umuawulu, at his Abuja office.
The visit provided an opportunity for a heart-to-heart conversation with the renowned road construction executive, respected community leader and philanthropist whose commitment to improving lives has made him a remarkable figure in Umuawulu community, Awka South Local Government Area and across Anambra State.
For High Chief Ndubisi, philanthropy is more than a public gesture; it is a personal commitment to making life better for ordinary people. His journey began with modest acts of generosity, including the distribution of thousands of bags of rice in his community, which gradually grew into a broader vision of community development.
Over time, his interventions expanded beyond food assistance to include youth empowerment, education, infrastructure, civic centre building projects and livelihood opportunities.
Among the most striking aspects of his efforts is his investment in road infrastructure. Through his personal commitment and resources, more than 33 kilometres of roads and drainage infrastructure have been delivered to improve access and connectivity within the community.
His contributions also extend to electricity access, with more than 5,000 solar streetlights installed across Umuawulu and the Omaola axis, improving illumination in public spaces. He has also provided boreholes to improve access to water, while educational support has helped families keep their children in school.
In education, Ndubisi has supported students through school-fee assistance and scholarships. His commitment is further reflected in the establishment of John Angel’s Secondary School, where students benefit from tuition-free education. He also supported the construction and donation of St. Christopher Catholic Church and its parish rectory.
His youth empowerment initiatives have focused on equipping young people with practical skills in information and communication technology, entrepreneurship, fish farming, poultry farming and soap making. More than 1,000 youths have benefited from the training and empowerment programmes.
The support has also extended to provision of livelihood equipment including shuttle buses, truck tricycles, deep freezers and grinding machines, as well as agricultural support and mechanised farming initiatives.
During the conversation with Njoku and members of the 4th Estate Reporters team, Ndubisi shared insights into his philanthropic journey and the needs that continue to shape his interventions.
In his remarks, Ikenga Umuawulu encouraged the publisher and his team to remain committed to their vision, stressing the importance of human capital development and responsible media practice.
“You started well, and you are doing very well. In life, whatever you do, take cognisance of those who are also trying to improve people’s livelihoods, especially through human capital development,” he told Njoku.
He offered prayers for the continued growth of 4th Estate Reporters and encouraged its publisher to remain focused on building a media organisation capable of making lasting impact.
“My prayer is that God Almighty will inspire you to do more for humanity. I can see that you are moving gradually in the right direction. All things are possible. You just have to think big and work towards your vision. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step,” he said.
As part of the visit, Njoku presented Ndubisi with a jacket crested with the 4th Estate Reporters brand, in appreciation of his hospitality, community service and commitment to human development.
Njoku expressed gratitude to Ndubisi for welcoming the delegation and for his generosity, prayers and words of encouragement, describing the conversation as insightful and inspiring.
The visit underscored the importance of meaningful engagement between the media and individuals working to improve society, and reinforced the enduring value of service and purposeful leadership centred on human progress.
