The Southern Youth Foundation (SYF), in collaboration with the Orashi National Congress (ONC), has announced plans to hold the 2nd Edition of its Public Peace Awareness Campaign for Ogbele Community as part of its end-of-year programmes.

According to a statement made available to the press, the campaign is scheduled for Saturday, December 28, 2025, by 11:00am prompt, at the Multi-Purpose Civic Hall, Ogbele Community, Rivers State.

The programme is themed: “Let Us Shun Protestation and Embrace Dialogue/Peaceful Approach with Companies Operating in Our Domain.” Organisers say the initiative is aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, constructive engagement, and dialogue between host communities and companies operating within the area.

Leaders of SYF and ONC emphasized that the campaign seeks to discourage violent protests and encourage alternative dispute-resolution mechanisms that foster development, stability, and mutual understanding.

Community leaders, youths, stakeholders, and representatives of corporate organizations are expected to attend the event. The organisers described the programme as timely, given the need for sustained peace and cooperation for grassroots development.
