A joint security effort to finally put a nail on all forms of kidnapping and other violent crimes has been launched in Anambra State today, code named “Operation Udo Ga-Achị – Zero Kidnapping”.
The joint effort, which is a collaboration between all security agencies in the state such as the military, National Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Agunechemba Security Outfit among Others, will be led by the Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State Command.
The launch, which took place at the Amawbia Flyover, had all the security chiefs in the state in attendance as they vowed to sustain the success already recorded in nipping crimes in the bud.
Addressing the Journalists on behalf of the security agencies, Commissioner of Police, Dr Ikioye Orutugu, said the decision to activate the Operation Udo Ga Chi- Zero Kidnapping was made to finally and totally eradicate all forms violent crimes and insecurity from the state.
The Police Commissioner reiterated that the war against insecurity is a collective responsibility and asked every one to support the efforts of security agencies in the state by saying something when they see something.
For the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Anti-Cultism, Mr. Kingsley Ezika, all groups, organisations and youths must unite and fight against insecurity in the state.
Representatives of the Ultimate Business Women and Farmers Association of Nigeria, Mrs. Nkiru Nwagbo and Anambra state Restaurants Owners and Bars Association, (ARBOA), Mr. Chiko Onwuzuluike threw their weights behind the operation and appreciated their efforts to improve the security in the state.
