The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Her Excellency Prof. (Mrs.) Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS, marked her birthday in a heartwarming and humanitarian manner by reaching out to orphanage homes across the Orashi region.

The celebration, which took place at Jesus the Last Bus Stop Orphanage Home in Edeoha Town, Ahoada-East Local Government Area, and Grace Orphanage Home in Omoku, saw the distribution of food items, household materials, and financial support to the children and caregivers.

Leading the delegation was the President General of the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Amb. Emeni Ibe, who described the Deputy Governor as “a proud daughter, a mother, and a compassionate leader of the Orashi region whose life exemplifies humility and service to humanity”.

Items donated during the outreach included bags of rice, cartons of noodles, detergents, soap, beds, and cash gifts—all presented as part of the Deputy Governor’s birthday goodwill to the less privileged.

The atmosphere at both orphanage homes was filled with joy and gratitude as the children, pastors, and caregivers prayed fervently for Prof. Ngozi Odu, thanking her for remembering them on her special day and for her continuous love and support to the Orashi region.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the management of the orphanage homes appreciated the Deputy Governor for her benevolence and motherly heart, describing her as a beacon of hope to the vulnerable.
Amb. Emeni Ibe further reaffirmed that the Orashi National Congress remains proud of the Deputy Governor, noting that her philanthropic acts and leadership style continue to inspire many across Rivers State and beyond.

The event ended with prayers, songs of thanksgiving, and heartfelt expressions of appreciation to the Deputy Governor for choosing to celebrate her birthday through service and kindness.
