So many negative stories were said about Bayelsa State, before the inception of the present ASSURED Prosperity Administration.
While some of the stories were rumours, a sad development that made many to describe the state as a rumour mill, others were things that really happened.
But since the inception of the Gov. Douye Diri Administration, the state is always on the News for good reasons.
One classic evidences of the positive trend is the fact that outstanding personalities, and highly placed persons, now visit the state very often.
Many years ago, the common talk in the streets of our towns and villages was about hotels. People argued that building of hotels was the only business that Bayelsa politicians knew how to invest. Sadly, most of the hotels then were always empty. Thus, hotel was not a viable business.
Today, there are inadequate hotels in Bayelsa State. There is need for the building of more hotels. I say this because 95% of hotels in Yenagoa are always fully booked almost every weekend.
The hotels are not booked by spirits. They are booked by humans. It therefore tells us about the multitudes of people that enter the state every week.
There is also shortage of good, quality intra and interstate taxis. Hence the need for both government and private investments in the above area.
All of the above are the results of the good works of Gov. Douye Diri in the areas of road infrastructure, sports, health, education and others.
Senator Douye Diri has made Bayelsa State a very attractive destination for investment. Bayelsans should take advantage of the huge investment opportunities in the state and see how we can be part of the above in whichever ways that we can.
