Orashi National Congress & Southern Youth Foundation Commend NLNG On Landmark Gas Supply Agreements

The Orashi National Congress (ONC) and the Southern Youth Foundation (SYF), under the leadership of Ambassador Emeni Ibe, have commended the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) for signing long-term Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs) with six third-party suppliers to deliver up to 1,290 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscf/d) or 13.3 bcm/yr to the Bonny Plant.
This landmark agreement, described as a historic breakthrough, represents a new chapter in Nigeria’s gas development drive and aligns with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas Agenda.
The six suppliers under the agreements include:
SNEPCO–SUNLINK HI Project
TEPNG–AMNI JV IMA Project
NNPCL–First E&P JV
SNG–NGML
OANDO–NNPC E&P
TEPNG JV Ubeta
Speaking on the development, Ambassador Emeni Ibe, President General of ONC and Convener of SYF, hailed the achievement as a turning point for Nigeria’s gas industry and a welcome development for the Niger Delta.
“The Orashi region is proud to be associated with this milestone, especially as the Ubeta project forms a key component of the supply chain. These agreements not only guarantee energy security for the nation but also open the door for peace, jobs, and socio-economic transformation in host communities,” he stated.
Ambassador Ibe further emphasized the readiness of the ONC and SYF to work hand in hand with NLNG, NNPC Limited, and other partners to ensure that the benefits of these agreements translate into tangible development for the people of the Niger Delta.
He added that the ONC and SYF view this achievement as a win for Nigeria, a win for the Niger Delta, and a win for the ordinary people, stressing that collaboration, peace, and transparency will be the guiding principles to maximize the impact of the Gas Supply Agreements.
The ONC and SYF congratulated NLNG’s MD/CEO, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, and NNPC Limited’s GCEO, Bayo Ojulari, for their leadership, vision, and commitment to repositioning the gas sector for sustainable growth.
