Respected apex Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has paid a courtesy visit to Sir Okroiyobia Arugu, the Sole Administrator of Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Cisca News reports that the ONC paid the visit on Tuesday 22nd July, 2025, at the Council Secretariat.
In his speech during the visit, the President General of the Congress, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, who was ably represented by Pastor Isaac Nwachukwu, the Secretary General said, “On behalf the good people of Orashi region, which comprises of Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State, we the members of the delegation of the Orashi National Congress extend our best wishes to you on this historic occasion of our visit to your office”.
“The entire leadership and membership of the Orashi National Congress have mandated this delegation to register our profound appreciation to you and your team for the swift continuation of the drainage system and dualization of the Okana link road project, not forgetting your prompt selection and preparation of IDP camps to cushion the effects of the predicted flood by NIMET, are worthy of commendation.”
“Orashi National Congress is the apex socio-cultural organization in the Orashi region. We are purely apolitical and as such, we work with the government of the day, traditional rulers and relevant security agencies to maintain peace in our region which is key to facilitate genuine development.”
“We have come to partner with you and to register our willingness to work with you and your team to ensure that there is peace in Abua/Odual and the entire Orashi region.”

“Sir, we want to use this opportunity to appeal that you use your good office to support us in the following ways; to include our members in the Local Govenment flood management committee, engage some of our members as support to the organization and as well to support us financially for our forthcoming “Orashi Peace rally” scheduled to take off on the 21st of September, 2025, beginning with Abua/Odual and cut across the other three Local Government Areas of Orashi region.”
After the speech of the President General of the Congress, in his brief response, the Sole Administrator, Sir Okroiyobia Arugu, promised to partner with the Congress, hinting that his doors are always open for collaboration. He also assured the Congress of his support in all their noble activities.
