Orashi National Congress Pays Courtesy Visit To NEMA 

Respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, ably led by Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, has paid a courtesy visit to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) South-South Zonal Office. 
The ONC delegation paid the visit on Tuesday 4th November, 2025, and was received by Mr. Eric Ebhodaghe, the Head of Operations, NEMA South South Zonal office.
According to Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, it was to reiterate the commitment of the Congress towards proactive efforts aimed at mitigating the devastating effects of seasonal flooding across communities in Rivers State.
In his remarks, the Head of Operations, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) South-South Zonal Office, Mr. Eric Ebhodaghe, promised to partner with the Orashi National Congress in their noble initiatives aimed at flood management and control.
Mr. Ebhodaghe also assured that the Zonal office in partnership with the Congress will train the people as NEMA Volunteers to have capacity to attend to emergency situations. He called on Local Government chairmen, Traditional Rulers, captains of industry, multinational companies, corporate and spirited individuals to support the initiatives by the Congress to save lives and properties in the region.
The NEMA Zonal office formally endorsed the forthcoming Sensitization and Awareness Campaign on Flood Management and Control being put together by the Orashi National Congress.
The campaign, aimed at educating residents of flood-prone areas, particularly in the Orashi region, on preventive measures, emergency response strategies, and community-based flood management practices, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 8th November, 2025, at the Ahoada East Local Government Secretariat by 11:00am with the theme “Together for a Safer Tomorrow: Managing Floods Through Awareness and Action”.
