Reputable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Anti-Cultism Unit, SP Aron Innocent Sambo, at Erema.
The ONC, ably led by the President General, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, paid the visit on Tuesday 23rd September, 2025.
While speaking during the visit, Ambassador Ibe said, “It is with great joy and profound gratitude that I, Amb. Emeni Ibe, by the special grace of God Almighty led this great delegation for a courtesy visit to you Sir. We are here to welcome you, congratulate you on your assumption of office and also identify with you. We also wish to use this medium to express our profound gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, CP Adepoju Olugbenga Adewale, for this kind gesture envisaged on the promotion of security, healthy-cohesion and peaceful coexistence among the people”.
“The Orashi National Congress is an independent socio-cultural umbrella organization of Orashi people, whose aims and objective among others are the advocation for sustainable security and preaching of peace, national unity and justice particularly to enlighten and mobilize Orashi people to always use dialogue in resolving conflicts and consulting with security agencies.”
“We in the Congress having the aims and the ambition of contributing our quota towards bettering the society by creating conducive industrial environment with focus on actualizing the ideal of better society and reduction of crime like cultism, pipeline vandalization, youth restiveness and terrorism etc, we carry out the following activities: public enlightenment campaign for the returns of arms illegally possessed, national unity and security workshop, Orashi peace walk (aka) Waka for peace, talk shop for military/civilian cordial interface, anti-pipeline vandalization campaign, anti-bunkering initiative, anti-kidnapping campaign, operation walk with security agencies and operation give honour to traditional rulers, just to mention but few.”
“We are here to identify and partner with you on the realization of continuous peaceful co-existence campaign in the area while we pledge our cooperation and total support with you as the Commander.”

In his remarks, the Anti-Cultism Commander, SP Aron Innocent Sambo, thanked the Congress for the visit. He promised to work with and support the ONC in their activities targeted to achieve peace, security and development in the four Local Government Areas of the Orashi region.
Following the visit and observations, the Orashi National Congress is calling on sons and daughters of the Orashi region, spirited individuals, Local Government Chairmen, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and politicians to assist in ensuring optimal performance by the Unit by providing necessary things needed for effective service delivery.
Amb. Emeni Ibe said, “We observed that there was only one functional operation vehicle even though not in very good shape. This Anti-Cultism Unit serves the four LGAs in the Orashi region. They need office furniture and equipment, motorcycles for routine surveillance patrols, and fully functional operational vehicles to be able to perform their duties diligently”.
“As a group that loves security, we therefore, use this medium to call on distinguished Orashi sons and daughters to assist the Unit with necessary logistics and office equipment in order to ensure effective policing of our area. No assistance is too small for the security of lives and properties in Orashi.”
