The Orashi National Congress, ONC, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Late Mr. Chairman Benneth, popularly known as Achan, describing his death as a great loss to the Orashi region and Rivers State at large.
In an official condolence message signed by the President General of ONC, Ambassador Emeni Ibe (JP, AP), and the Secretary General, Pastor Isaac Nwachukwu, the Congress commiserated with the Benneth family of Abarikpo Town, Ahoada East Local Government Area.
The message, addressed to Hon. Happy Benneth on behalf of the bereaved family, noted that the Orashi National Congress and the good people of the Orashi region received the news of the untimely death of Mr. Benneth with shock and sadness.
“We write to condole with you and the family over the news of the untimely death of your beloved brother, Late Mr. Chairman Benneth (Aka Achan). We urge the family to take heart and find solace from God because He alone will give you the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” the message read.
Ambassador Ibe further emphasized that the late Mr. Benneth’s contributions to the peace and unity of the Orashi region will not be forgotten, adding that his memory will continue to inspire collective efforts toward regional development and solidarity.
The condolence message reflects the ONC’s tradition of standing in solidarity with families and communities during moments of grief, reinforcing its commitment to peace, unity, and development in the Orashi region.
The Orashi National Congress comprises the ethnic nationalities of Abua, Egbema, Ekpeye, Engenni, Ogba, Ndoni, Odual, Kugbo, and Ogbogolo, cutting across Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
