Orashi National Congress Joins In Royal Welcome For Oba Of Ogba-Land To Egi Kingdom 

The Orashi National Congress, ONC, the apex socio-cultural organization representing the interest of the Orashi people, has officially announced its full participation in the royal visit of His Eminence, Barr. Nwachuku Nnam Obuoha-Obi III, the revered Oba (Eze Ogba) of Ogba-land, to the ancient and culturally rich Egi Kingdom.

 

The royal visit, scheduled for Friday, 25th July, 2025 at 10:00 AM prompt, is set to be a monumental gathering of Ogba sons and daughters, showcasing the kingdom’s deep-rooted traditions, unity, and reverence for the royal institution.

 

In a statement released by the ONC leadership, Amb. (Snr. Comr.) Emeni Ibe, President General of the Orashi National Congress, expressed heartfelt enthusiasm, saying:

“The royal visit of His Eminence, Barr. Nwachuku Nnam Obuoha-Obi III, to the Egi Kingdom is not only symbolic but spiritually significant to the unity and cultural reaffirmation of the Ogba nation. As Grand Patron of the Orashi National Congress, the Oba’s presence inspires a collective consciousness among the people of Orashi to preserve our identity, promote peace, and pursue development together”.

 

The programme, which will begin at the Egi Kingdom Palace with a warm royal reception, will also feature a majestic cultural display at the Anama-Orji Ancestral Ground, followed by a Grand Civic Reception at Erema Community Secondary School.

The ONC delegation, comprising elders, youth leaders, traditional custodians, and cultural troupes from the entire Orashi region—including Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA), and Abua/Odual—will be in full attendance. They will showcase vibrant cultural performances, symbolic gifts, and solidarity messages in honor of the Oba.

The visit comes at a time when efforts are being intensified to strengthen traditional leadership, promote unity among all Ogba-speaking communities, and protect the socio-political interests of the Orashi ethnic nationality.

 

Oba Nwachuku Nnam Obuoha-Obi III, a seasoned legal luminary and respected traditional monarch, has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to the promotion of unity, education, youth empowerment, and cultural heritage within the Orashi belt and beyond. His position as Grand Patron of the ONC has further elevated his stature as a bridge-builder across various ethnic communities in Rivers State.

 

As the countdown begins, the entire Orashi region is aglow with excitement and anticipation, ready to honor their royal father in a manner befitting his throne and legacy.
