Open Letter To His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu

*An Urgent Call for a Pedestrian Bridge at LAWNA Territorial Headquarters, Olorunda-Ketu*

*Your Excellency,*

I write to you today not only as a concerned Lagosian but as someone who recently had a personal and distressing experience that speaks to a major infrastructural gap within our great state. My visit yesterday to the LAWNA Territorial Headquarters of The Apostolic Church in Olorunda-Ketu, located along the ever-busy Oworonshoki Expressway, left me deeply shaken—and has since affected my health.
Your Excellency, I must be honest: I had never anticipated that a place as expansive, vibrant, and significant as the *LAWNA Territorial Headquarters*—an entire village in itself—would be so disconnected from basic pedestrian safety measures. The headquarters, which hosts thousands of worshippers weekly and draws visitors from across Nigeria, sits directly along one of the fastest-moving traffic corridors in Lagos—the stretch between the Third Mainland Bridge and the Ibadan Expressway.
*Crossing from the LAWNA side of the expressway to the Ogudu axis was nothing short of terrifying*. I spent nearly an hour waiting for a safe window to cross. At multiple intervals, I watched elderly women, young children, and entire families take dangerous risks—darting through fast-moving vehicles just to get to the other side. This, Your Excellency, is not just an inconvenience—it is a disaster waiting to happen.
If any place deserves a pedestrian bridge, it is here.
As someone who trusts your swift response to issues affecting lives in Lagos, I humbly appeal to your kind office to urgently consider the construction of a pedestrian bridge at the entrance of the LAWNA Territorial Headquarters, Olorunda-Ketu. This singular act would not only prevent unnecessary loss of lives but also reinforce your commitment to the safety and wellbeing of every resident—regardless of status, religion, or location.
Your Excellency, you are a man of action, and we know that once your attention is drawn to any area of need, positive change follows. I, alongside many others, look forward with hope that this appeal will lead to quick intervention.
*May God continue to guide you as you lead Lagos toward a safer and greater tomorrow.*
*Yours sincerely,*
*Pius Ade Babaleye Pab*
*A Concerned Citizen and Witness to the Dangers of Olorunda-Ketu Crossing*
