The President General of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP) has commended the effects of apprehending seven (7) suspected killers and hijackers of bikes and riders in ONELGA.
The criminals suspected to be responsible for the killings of motorcycle operators, popularly known as Okada riders in the Omoku, the Headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area were today 17th September, 2025, apprehended by security agencies in the LGA.
The arrests were made following the directives of the L.G.A Council Chairman; Sir Dr. Chukwu Ogbogu Shedrack Esq to security agencies in the L.G.A to double their efforts in ensuring that perpetrators of these senseless killings are brought to justice.
Amb Ibe said, “This is very commendable and a move in the right direction, as we in the Orashi National Congress are happy over this report but want more proactive measure to checkmate the recurring incidents”.
“This development today underscores the preparedness of the Executive Chairman, Barr. Chukwu’s administration to curb the area of recent security challenges as ONELGA still remains one of the most peaceful and hospitable L.G.A in Orashi Region of Rivers State.”
“We urge the Executive Chairman to work with all security agencies to handle the situation peacefully. We appeal to the people to remain calm and trust in the effort of government and security agencies to bring justice to the good people of ONELGA especially the law abiding citizens.”
