Reputable groups, Orashi National Congress, ONC and the Southern Youths Foundation of Nigeria, SYF, have congratulated the newly appointed Service Chiefs, while charging them on improved security across the nation.
In a statement signed by the President General of the ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, who doubles as the National President of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, the groups said, “We wish to use this medium to congratulate the new Service Chiefs, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede (CDS), Major General W Shuaibu (COAS), Rear Admiral I Abbas (CNS) and Air Vice Marshall SK Aneke (CAS), on their well deserved appointment by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
“It must be recalled that during his inauguration speech in 2023, President Tinubu promised to defend the nation from terror and all forms of criminality that threaten the peace and stability of our country. We believe that to effectively tackle this menace, the President needed to reform both our security doctrine and its architecture.”
“We therefore, view the appointment of the new Service Chiefs as part of President Bola Tinubu’s effort to strengthen Nigeria’s national security architecture.”
“We believe that Mr. President made the appointment having considered their services to the nation in various capacities over the years. We therefore, charge them to bring new zeal and innovative solutions to the security challenges bedeviling the nation. Only great performance will justify the confidence of Mr. President in their capacities” the groups stated.
