Popular Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, is set to welcome the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, DSSRS, and other invited guests guests to its major sensitization and awareness campaign on flood management and control in Ahoada, Rivers State.
According to Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, the President General of the Congress, the programme, the campaign is scheduled to hold on Friday, 28th November, 2025, at the Information Centre, Ahoada.
Amb Ibe said, “All is now set for our sensitisation and awareness campaign. We welcome Her Excellency, Prof Ngozi Odu, in a special way as a result oriented daughter of the Orashi region”.
“The ONC wishes to state unequivocally that the programme is not a political arrangement but concerted effort targeted towards protecting our people by sensitisating them on flood prevention, management and control.”
“Since it is about our people affected by the incessant flooding, we hereby appeal to stakeholders and Local Government Chairmen in the Orashi region to support this noble initiative in any way they can. This sensitisation campaign actually aims at equipping communities with vital knowledge on preparedness, mitigation and coordinated response to flooding — a recurring challenge in the Orashi region. We expect to witness a massive influx of people tomorrow in Ahoada.”
