The leadership and members of respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, have expressed profound appreciation to the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu, and the Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District, Dr. Ipalibo Harry, for their generous donation of bags of rice to the Congress in the spirit of the Christmas season.

In a statement released by the President General of the ONC, Amb. Emeni Ibe, the group described the gesture as timely and deeply symbolic, especially at a period when many families are celebrating the birth of Christ amid prevailing economic challenges.

Amb. Ibe noted that while several appeals for support were earlier made to different stakeholders, only the Deputy Governor and the Senator responded positively, describing them as “women of valour who have once again demonstrated compassion, empathy, and true leadership”.

According to the statement, the Christmas rice distribution brought joy to members of the Congress and further strengthened the bond between the Orashi people and leaders who genuinely identify with their welfare.

The ONC prayed for God’s continued protection, wisdom, and blessings upon Professor Ngozi Nma Ordu and Senator Ipalibo Harry, wishing them greater success in their service to Rivers State and the nation at large.
However, the Congress used the opportunity to call on other individuals and institutions who have consistently neglected the prestigious socio-cultural organization to have a change of heart. The statement emphasized that inclusive engagement and support for recognized bodies like the ONC are essential for promoting peace, unity, love, oneness, and sustainable development across the Orashi region.

The Congress reaffirmed its commitment to fostering harmony and working with well-meaning leaders and stakeholders for the overall progress of Orashi land and Rivers State.
