
Notable group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, under the leadership of its President General, Amb. Emeni Ibe, has commended the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for his bold and decisive move in relieving members of his cabinet of their duties following the Supreme Court judgment.
Governor Fubara had made the announcement during a special valedictory session with his cabinet at the Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
The Governor, while expressing deep appreciation to the outgoing Commissioners and public officers, lauded their contributions to the growth and development of Rivers State in the past two years.
He emphasized the importance of national unity at this time, calling on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country. He further reassured Rivers people of his unwavering commitment to serve with renewed vigour and continue delivering good governance.

Reacting to the development, Amb. Emeni Ibe, President General of the Orashi National Congress, described the Governor’s action as a courageous step that has reinforced the hope of Rivers people in his leadership. He noted that the move demonstrates Governor Fubara’s resolve to sustain peace, stability, and accountability in the state.
“This decision shows that the Governor has the best interests of Rivers State at heart. It is clear that peace has come to stay, and we as a people must support him to consolidate on the progress so far,” Amb. Ibe said.
The ONC urged Rivers citizens to rally around Governor Fubara in his renewed effort to reposition the state for greater socio-economic development.
