CHIEF MACDONALD ENWERE

On Monday 29th December 2025, the atmosphere of Oke-Ovoro clan will wear the apron of ecstasy and rhapsodic joy as Okeovo secondary school global Alumni Association celebrates golden Jubilee Anniversary of the school.

The event will be a historic celebration of accomplished vision, resilience, excellence, and transformation that define the academic trajectory of the institution. From its humble beginnings in 1975, Okeovoro secondary school as a premier institution served as the foundation of secondary education and rudiment of academic excellence in Okeovoro.  The school became a tower of knowledge and excellence in the entire Okeovoro clan, some parts of Ngor Okpala and other parts of Imo State, growing to become one of the leading and renowned institutions in Imo State,  signposting as a beacon of academic excellence, innovation, character reformation and a vortex to societal development and progress.

The success of the school can be incontrovertibly attributed to the  esteemed hospitality and “ohuru obia agba nkwa” spirit of Uvuru community. The community gave the school the springboard latitude to thrive as there was never a record of hostility and insurgency between the school and Uvuru community. The school rose to become the proverbial “Agnes Nwamma” whose dazzling influence cuts across the ambience and four squares of the entire Okeovoro clan and beyond. There is no family in Okeovoro and some parts of Ngor Okpala that do not bear the influence of Okeovoro secondary school.  If you did not attend Okeovoro secondary school, someone from your family must have passed through the school.  If you were not taught by someone who passed through Okeovoro secondary school, your life must have been touched in one way or the other by someone who passed through Okeovoro school. That is the indisputable fact.

Indeed, Okeovoro secondary school deserves a hybrid celebration for baking and producing some decorated personalities of national and international eminence who have recorded some grandiloquent milestones in different spectrums of human existentialism. These are excellent breeds, homo-intellegentias, men of erectile brilliance with dazzling splendour, and eclectic effulgence whose remarkable exploits in societal development remain legendary. The school has produced top bank executive directors, media executives, medical doctors, professors, engineers, teachers, clergy, lawyers, politicians, top businessmen and women, traditional rulers and other notable personalities like; former speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, former Nigerian Ambassador to Ethiopia, frontline governorship aspirant and others. Today, Okeovoro secondary has become a scholastic beehive, where cerebral honey is produced for Nigerian society.

Without exaggeration, the school has become a shining star among the galaxy of stars with continued conversation on intellectualism. The school has been soaring higher and higher with the strength of its own wings, encouraging growth and development. Kudos to the global Alumni Association under the ingenuous leadership sagacity of the global president, Dr Kenneth Akwuole, who has remained relentlessly committed in ensuring that the school maintains its glory as a model of academic excellence. And the chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Amb. Chief Innocent Iwejuo, who is at the epicentre of the success story of the celebration.

The golden Jubilee anniversary shall be an auspicious and historic event that  will be celebrated with wine and sweet words. That is exactly what will be happening on 29th December, 2025. The anniversary celebration shall command singing, drumming, dancing, champagne popping, jollification, and merry making.

Join us as we celebrate our humble beginning, embrace our present, and inspire the future .
