Ojodu LCDA Update On Rescue Operations Ongoing At Building Collapse Site

Rescue operations are still ongoing following Saturday’s building collapse at 10, Oremeta Street, Ojodu Berger, which housed the Equal Rights Restaurant.

 

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has been at the scene coordinating efforts alongside agencies including LASEMA, LABSCA, LASAMBUS, LSPWC, and the FRSC.

 

As of 12:00pm today, April 20, 2025, 18 individuals have been rescued and taken to Royan Hospital and LASUTH for treatment. Sadly, six fatalities have been recorded, with two bodies deposited at Yaba Medical Centre by SEMHU.

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon Odunmbaku, has visited the site to help in coordinating rescue operations and the injured victims in hospital as well as offered condolences to the families of the deceased. He continues to praise the swift response of the Lagos State Government and rescue agencies, stressing that the safety of residents remains a top priority.

Structural engineers are assessing the cause of the collapse, while site clearance has commenced.
