The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has again visited the site of the collapsed building at 10, Oremeta Street, Ojodu Berger, where rescue operations are still ongoing.
The ill-fated structure, which housed the Equal Rights Restaurant, collapsed on Saturday, prompting a swift response from emergency agencies.
Hon. Odunmbaku, who arrived at the scene on Sunday evening, offered his support to the coordinated efforts of LASEMA, LABSCA, LASAMBUS, LSPWC, FRSC, and the Nigerian Red Cross. He had earlier visited victims receiving treatment at Royan Hospital and LASUTH whilst also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the individuals who tragically lost their lives.
As at 6:00 p.m. on April 20, the number people who have been rescued alive remained 18, while that of the deceased are 6 and have been taken to Yaba Medical Centre by SEHMU.
Hon. Odunmbaku reiterated his commitment to residents’ safety, emphasizing that structural engineers from State Agencies are already investigating the cause, with site clearance to commence at exactly 10pm.
