The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, was among the dignitaries present and delivered a keynote speech at the official launch of a two-year healthcare support initiative organized by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in collaboration with the Grants Foundation (GF).
The event, which marked the commencement of a transformative project aimed at supporting the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), focuses on enhancing the delivery of primary healthcare services through the implementation of digitally-enabled Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
Hon. Odunmbaku, who delivered the keynote address, lauded the collaborative effort between CHAI and the Grants Foundation, describing it as a timely intervention that aligns with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to improving healthcare outcomes at the grassroots level. He emphasized the critical role of digital technology in transforming health systems which his administration is implementing through deploying Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in improving care quality and streamlining PHC operations for better service delivery in Ojodu LCDA.
He further commended the LSPHCB headed by Dr Ibrahim Mustapha for steering the project and said Ojodu LCDA has already advanced its own EMR programme with 13 IT-trained staff, 7 laptops and 6 tablets powered by Fibre-optic Wi-Fi installed at Ogba PHC for pilot phase. As Key data, including lab tests and drug lists have already being uploaded with smart patient cards been introduced before it extends to six other PHCs in readiness to merge with the State Government’s project to bolster operational efficiency, improve data management and ultimately enhance the quality of care for residents.
