What exactly does Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC Governorship candidate for the November 8 Anambra Governorship election represent, as an individual?
Financial prudence?
Economic management?
Youth empowerment?
Public administration?
Security?
In the last few weeks since his emergence as candidate, I have tried to connect the APC Candidate to something tangible with respect to governance, albeit without success.
Although I must admit that I’m impressed that the Nnewi-South born politician had the Rizz, Charm and Charisma to attract and marry a young beautiful wife, but beyond that, there is nothing about Ikukuoma’s personality that resonates soundly when it comes to governance. Particularly for someone who has been publicly known for decades.
I recall that I was just about in secondary school when Ikukuoma’s campaign posters with the theme, “Ikukuoma – the Wind of Glory” littered the state, so I’m certain a lot of Ndi Anambra are familiar with his name, but sadly as an average Anambrarian, I can say I know him for nothing!
In spite of the APC candidate’s years in public knowledge, his stance on National, Regional or State issues is undetermined.
For over 20 years, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu had the opportunity to represent something, stand for something and be known for something. He had our attention – based on how popular his name was and still is in Anambra – but sadly he could not take his chances. A missed opportunity!
I can only suspect that Ikukuoma never knew a day like this would come when he would be holding the ticket of a major political party in the state – this creates doubt on his preparedness for the office he seeks to occupy.
While the likes of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah before becoming Senator, represented Youth Empowerment, Prof Chukwuma Soludo before becoming Governor represented Economic management.
Today, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu wants to be Governor. What does he represent?
