Today, August 02, 2025, marks the beginning of a new epoch and important turning point in the history of Imo State as the caring and God-given leader of our time, Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, PhD, embarks on a work tour of communities across the state, with the aim of having direct and meaningful interactions with Imo women as they hold their annual August Meeting also known as home and abroad meeting while supporting their various community development initiatives.
This latest move is sequel to The Mazi Organization’s recent announcement of a N100 million donation to 100 community and faith-based women’s groups and organizations in the state.
According to Cajetan Duke, JP, Spokesperson, The Mazi Organization, the tour will provide a platform for the Umuekwune Ngor-Okpala-born human nutritionist and scholar to communicate his vision for a new Imo and the crucial role Imo women will play in shaping the emergent Imo under the effective, transparent, accountable, purposeful and effective leadership of Mazi Chima Mathew Amadi PhD, where justice, fairness and equity will prevail, where security of lives and property will be prioritized and where every Imo Citizen, will have a sense of belonging.
Through these direct engagements, Mazi Amadi hopes to obtain firsthand knowledge of the peculiar challenges of Imo communities, understand the needs and aspirations of Imo women and which he will use to develop targeted solutions to reposition Imo State on the trajectory of enduring and irreversible socio-economic development.
Indeed, The Mazi Organization’s donation of N100 million to women’s groups and organizations is a demonstration of Mazi Amadi’s commitment to empowering Imo women and fostering community development in the state.
This intervention undoubtedly underscores Mazi Chima Mathew Amadi’s deep appreciation of the strategic position of Imo women as pillars of our families and builders of the society, even as he looks forward to instituting an inclusive, responsive and gender-sensitive leadership in the state.
