Immigration Apprehends Notorious Native Doctor Linked To Suspected Ritual Activities

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has successfully intercepted and detained a notorious native doctor, Obi Levi Obieze—also identified as Levi Obu Onyeka—while attempting to cross the Badagry-Seme border in a covert escape bid.

In a statement released in Abuja, NIS spokesperson, ACI Akinsola Akinlabi, confirmed that the operation was carried out under the directive of the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap.

Obieze, who hails from Umuojor village in the Isiagu community of Enugu State, was said to be on the radar of law enforcement agencies in connection with the disappearance of a 13-year old girl on 27th May, 2025. The young victim was reportedly abducted while accompanying her father to their farm and was later discovered at a location believed to be a shrine tied to the suspect.

Acting swiftly on intelligence reports, operatives from the Lagos State Border Patrol Command intercepted Obieze at the Gbaji checkpoint, along the busy Badagry-Seme corridor. Attempting to flee the country via motorcycle, his identity was confirmed using a slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), found in his possession. He is said to have made a preliminary admission of involvement during interrogation.

The suspect remains in custody and is expected to be transferred to the Nigeria Police Force for comprehensive investigation and prosecution.

The NIS emphasized its continued commitment to safeguarding national borders and collaborating with sister security agencies to uphold internal security.
