In a grand ceremony on Friday, 25th April, 2025, the performing Distinguished Ogun West Lawmaker, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, empowered 4,000 youths, artisans and market women, who have been trained on different skill acquisition programmes.

Cisca News reports that the empowerment programme, which took place at the AUD Primary School, Imeko-Afon, saw beneficiaries going home with 10 mini buses, 37 tricycles, 50 motorcycles, 60 welding machines, 80 deep freezers, 28 generators, 61 vulcanizing machines, 399 sewing machines.

Others were; 12 embroidery machines, 85 hair dressing equipment, 100 entrepreneurship Cash Grant, 28 barbing equipment, 239 bricklaying Cash Grant, 542 school bags, 1,428 exercise books, 4,285 textbooks, 28 makeup kits and 168 catering equipment.

Speaking at the second edition of town hall meeting and mega empowerment, Senator Adeola Yayi reiterated his assurance of delivering effective representation as a legislatorto support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He posited that beneficiaries of the training and empowerment programme were selected devoid of any partisan considerations with utmost consideration for trade groups.
He said the training and empowerment was done in conjunction with federal cooperative college, IBADAN, federal cooperative college, Ohio, Rivers State, Michael Imodu Labour Centre, federal college of fishery and machine technology, SMEDAN, NCAM and National Productive Centre.

He urged the beneficiaries to diligently apply the skills learnt in the course of their training for their socio-economic advancement of themselves.
He appealed that they should shun the temptation of selling empowerment equipment for quick cash that would end up in unproductive frivolities and misplaced priorities.

“As happened during the last empowerment exercise, I have facilitated the requisite training of over 20,000 youths, men and women in the area of ICT and in various skills acquisition and entrepreneurship preparatory to some of their empowerment today.”
“It is my hope that many of the participants empowered will be in business of generating income for themselves. Let me state that beneficiaries of these training programme and empowerment were selected devoid of any partisan considerations with utmost consideration for trade groups while some major stakeholders were given opportunities to nominate beneficiaries as deemed fit.”
