Ikeja LG Boss Reaffirms Commitment To Women Empowerment As He Celebrates Mothers

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has extended warm greetings to mothers and women across Ikeja as they join the global community in celebrating Mother’s Day.

 

According to him, “Mothers are the quiet heroes of our society. They nurture, sacrifice, guide, and inspire. Their contributions to family stability, community development, and nation-building cannot be overemphasized.”

 

The Council Chairman noted that the women of Ikeja have consistently demonstrated resilience, enterprise, and dedication in various sectors including commerce, education, public service, and community leadership. He commended their vital role in sustaining the socio-economic vibrancy of the local government.

 

He further reaffirmed that the Ikeja Agenda remains strongly committed to policies and programmes that support the growth, protection, and empowerment of women across the local government. According to him, the administration will continue to promote initiatives that enhance women’s access to opportunities, support female entrepreneurs, strengthen family welfare, and encourage inclusive participation in governance.

 

The Chairman also used the occasion to offer prayers for mothers and women across Ikeja.

“On this special occasion, my wife, Mrs. Temitope Dauda, and I celebrate all mothers and women in Ikeja. We pray that God will continue to strengthen you, grant you good health and long life, and may you continually reap the fruits of your labour. Your sacrifices will never go unrewarded.”

 

Comrade Dauda encouraged residents to continue to honour, respect, and support mothers, noting that building stronger families remains fundamental to achieving sustainable development within the Ikeja community.

He concluded by wishing all mothers a joyful and fulfilling Mother’s Day celebration.
